2021 brought plenty of new content to the Magnetic audience, but one particular feature seemed to get a lot of traction.
The Movers & Shakers series focused on highlighting interesting individuals doing interesting work in agriculture. From AgTech entrepreneurs and content creators to farmers and agribusiness leaders, we sought to highlight cool people doing cool stuff.

β Long road to recovery. Ranchers in western Kansas are beginning the process of recovery after the Dec. 15 fires fueled by 100 mph wind gusts scorched 163,000 acres of land.
β Canadaβs cattle problem. The first case of BSE was reported in Canada in six years resulting in South Korea suspending beef imports from the country.
β Deere gobbles up AgriSync. The customer service platform for agribusinesses and equipment dealers was acquired and will expand its Deere-branded version of ticketing and remote support service.
β A pig dip. The December Pigs & Hogs report noted a decrease of 4% of U.S. pig inventory versus last year and a 1% decline from September.
β Butter has seen betterβ¦ The dairy staple is hitting price highs as high feed costs for dairy farmers pushed margins lower all while the U.S. herd shrunk by 85,000 head between May and September.
β USDA to upgrade. The department is testing its Respondent Portal with 15,000 producers to better collect data and report on the upcoming 2022 Census of Agriculture.
β Something worth toasting to. Vintage champagne and wine investments outperformed technology stocks and bitcoin in Europe on online trading platforms as coveted bottles saw record bidding activity and price movements.
